Check a Listing Before You Submit It

Have an AI agent review a listing the way the marketplace will, so you can fix the problems it finds before the marketplace rejects the listing.

Check listing has an AI agent review a listing the way the marketplace will and raise an issue for every problem it finds, so you can fix them before the marketplace sees the listing. Check & submit runs the same check, then submits the listing when nothing stands in the way.

Run a check

  1. Open the listing.
  2. Open the ... menu at the top right, then AI, and choose Check listing or Check & submit.
  3. Send the message in the chat that opens.

The agent looks at the listing as a whole (its category, its variant options, and each variant's SKU, barcode and options), then at every field value against the field's requirements and your product data. Images are checked too: the right product and color, the required background and shape, and nothing like watermarks or added text. It also reads what this marketplace has rejected your other listings for, and looks harder for the same problems.

A check never changes the listing. It reports what it finds as issues and sums them up in the chat.

What a check finds

Each problem becomes an issue on the field, variant or listing it's about, at one of four levels:

  • Error: the marketplace will reject the listing for it. An open error stops the listing from being submitted until it's dismissed.
  • Warning: the marketplace may reject it, or it hurts the listing.
  • Recommendation: an optional improvement.
  • Info: worth knowing, with nothing to change.

The issues show on the listing's Issues tab, under the field they're about, and on the listing or variant page, next to anything the marketplace reported.

Checks skip what hasn't changed

Osello remembers when each part of a listing was last checked, and a later check only looks at what changed since:

  • A field value needs checking again once its value changes. A value several variants share is checked once for all of them.
  • The listing as a whole needs checking again once its category, variant options or group code change, a variant's SKU, barcode or options change, or a variant is added.

Running the check again after fixing a few fields is quick. When it finds that a problem it raised earlier is gone, it dismisses that issue.

Clear an issue

  • Fix the field and save it. When a field has open issues, its edit page shows Dismiss issues after save, checked by default, which dismisses them with the save. That includes issues the marketplace reported on the field.
  • Dismiss it from the listing page or the Issues tab when you've decided it doesn't matter.
  • Run the check again, which dismisses the issues it raised and no longer finds.

Submit a listing with open errors

When a listing has open errors from a check, the Submit Listing dialog lists them and keeps Submit disabled. Fix and dismiss them, or check Dismiss errors and submit to send the listing as it is.

Issues the marketplace reported never block a submission. Submitting dismisses them, because the new submission is your answer to them.

Submit to Marketplace on the Listings page leaves out listings with open errors, the same way it leaves out listings missing required values.

Check & submit

Check & submit submits the listing only when the check raised nothing, no issue of any level is open on the listing, and its content is ready. Otherwise it submits nothing and tells you what's in the way. It never dismisses an issue to get a listing through.

AI agents submit listings only when you ask them to.

For API and AI assistant users

Checks are open to your own tools too. You can raise an issue on a listing, variant or field value, and mark a listing, variant or field value as checked. Updating a field value takes dismiss_issues to dismiss its issues once it saves, and submitting a listing takes dismiss_errors to dismiss the errors blocking it. Both default to off.
