AI assistants such as Claude can call other services' tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Osello runs an MCP server that gives your assistant the listing requirements of the marketplaces Osello supports, so you can ask it questions like "which Target+ category fits a linen midi dress, and which fields are required?"
The server is in beta. It is free, read-only and needs no Osello account.
What your assistant can look up
- The category a product belongs in on a marketplace. Describe the product and the assistant searches by meaning, not exact names.
- Every field a listing in that category needs, and which ones the marketplace requires.
- The allowed values of a select field, such as a color family or a size code.
- Osello's field guides: long-form advice on tricky fields, where one is written.
- Recent changes to a marketplace's requirements.
The marketplaces covered are the ones listed on osello.com/marketplaces.
Add it to Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector.
- Name it "Osello marketplaces" and paste the server URL:
https://www.osello.com/mcp - Leave the authentication settings empty and click Add.
Then ask Claude a question about a marketplace's requirements.
Add it to Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http osello-marketplaces https://www.osello.com/mcp
Other assistants
Any assistant that supports MCP over Streamable HTTP can connect. Give it the server URL, https://www.osello.com/mcp, and no credentials.
Good to know
- The server only reads public marketplace requirements. It can't see or change your products, listings or orders.
- A server for your own Osello account, with your products, listings and orders, is coming. It will sign you in with your Osello account.
