You can download your source products as a CSV or Excel file: one row per product, or one row per variant (SKU). Marketplaces often want to review a brand's catalog before it goes live, and this is the quickest way to hand one over before you commit to creating listings. Exports run in the background and the file is ready to download when they finish.
What you can export
- Products — one row per product with its identifiers, brand, description, tags, prices, stock total, weight and dimensions, image links, highlights, the option names it varies by (size, color, and so on), and any extra attributes (metafields) on the product. In Excel format each row also includes the product's photo embedded right in the spreadsheet.
- Product Variants (SKUs) — one row per variant with its own SKU, barcodes, price, stock, images and option values (for example Size: M, Color: Red). This is the format to re-import through product imports after editing it in a spreadsheet, and the one most marketplaces ask for.
Both formats use the same column names as the product import, so a file you export can be edited and imported again.
Export only the products you select
- Open Products in the left sidebar and tick the products you want to export. To export everything on the page, tick the checkbox in the table header.
- Click Choose action..., open Products, then click Export.
- Pick Products or Variants (SKUs). Open More options to choose CSV or XLSX, and for variants whether to repeat each parent's title, description and images on its variant rows (on by default). Turn that off if you prefer the parents as separate rows.
- Click Export. The file will appear on the Exports page when it's ready.
Export your whole catalog
- Open the store menu at the bottom of the left sidebar and click Exports.
- Click New Export, then pick Products or Product Variants.
- Optionally narrow the export with the Product status buttons: pick one or more of Active, Draft, Archived and Unlisted. Leave them all unselected to export every product.
- Choose the file format and click Start Export.
Download the file
The export's page shows its status while it runs. When it finishes:
- A Download button appears at the top of the export's page.
- The Exports list shows a download button next to every completed export. Use the model type filter there to find product exports quickly.
- If the export took more than a few seconds, you'll also receive an email with a download link.
