Nordstrom Pocket Details Field Guide

Describes details of any pockets on the product.

Pocket Details is an optional Nordstrom Marketplace attribute that tells shoppers how many pockets a garment or bag has, what kind they are and where they sit. It shows on the product page for the categories that use it, so a shopper comparing two pairs of trousers sees "Five-pocket styling" against "Two front slant pockets" without reading the full description.

Nordstrom does not require the field and an empty value never blocks an item. Filling it keeps the Description and Highlights free to cover fit, fabric and care.

The rules

Rule Value
Required No
Level Parent listing, shared by every colorway and size
Categories Categories Nordstrom flags for pocket details, mostly apparel and bags
Length Up to 5,000 characters; Osello recommends one short phrase
Content Count, type and position of the pockets
Never include Color, size, price or marketing claims

Write a fragment rather than a sentence: "Interior zip pocket", "Kangaroo pocket", "Two front slant pockets and one back welt pocket". Leave the field empty when the product has no pockets or nothing in your product data mentions them.

Examples

Value Verdict Reason
Five-pocket styling Good Denim shorthand shoppers recognize
Two front slant pockets and one back welt pocket Good Count, type and position in one phrase
Faux flap pockets Good Tells the shopper the pockets are decorative
Pockets Weak Says nothing the photo does not
Roomy navy pockets, perfect for your phone! Weak Color and a marketing claim

Common mistakes

  • Guessing from a silhouette. A jacket with visible seams may have faux pockets; state only what the data or photos confirm.
  • Listing pockets that vary by colorway. The value sits on the parent listing and must hold for every variant in the style group.
  • Filling it for products without pockets. Leave it blank instead.

How Osello fills this field

Osello sets Pocket Details once on the parent listing and every variant inherits it. The AI agent reads your product title, description, metafields and images, and writes one short phrase covering count, type and position when the source shows pockets. When nothing mentions pockets, the field stays blank. The value is checked against the 5,000 character limit before submission, and custom instructions let you set house wording. Frequently asked questions

Is Pocket Details required on Nordstrom Marketplace?

No. It is optional and only offered on categories where pockets matter, such as pants, jackets, dresses and bags. Leaving it empty does not cause a rejection.

Should I write "No pockets" when a garment has none?

Only if your own product data states it. Otherwise leave the field blank rather than asserting a detail you have not confirmed.

Can the pocket details differ between colorways?

No. The field lives on the parent listing and applies to every colorway and size in the style group. A colorway with a different pocket layout belongs in a separate style group.
