Sizing Information tells a Bloomingdale's shopper whether a pair of leggings, shorts or joggers runs small, large or true to size. It is a required size-and-fit attribute for the Women's active bottoms department, so a listing there cannot pass Bloomingdale's checks without it. The value is displayed on the product page, and on compression garments it is the single most useful thing a brand can say about fit, because a shopper who orders the wrong size in leggings almost always returns them.
Bloomingdale's does not accept free text. The value has to be one of its own phrases.
The allowed values
| Phrase | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Fits small, order one size up | The garment is fitted, structured, non-stretch or bodycon and runs snug |
| Fits large, order one size down | The garment is oversized, boxy or relaxed |
| Fits true to size, order your normal size | Neither applies, or you have no fit guidance |
Copy the phrase exactly, including the comma, with no trailing period. Do not add a model's size, body measurements or garment measurements; the measurement attributes exist for that. The limit is 254 characters, which no allowed phrase approaches.

Women's active bottoms
This is the Women's active bottoms version of the field. The same question appears in other departments under a slightly different name, for example Sizing info for Kids & Baby tops, and all versions take the same three phrases. On active bottoms, compression leggings that a brand cuts small on purpose should say "Fits small, order one size up", relaxed joggers and wide-leg studio pants often warrant "Fits large, order one size down", and most everyday leggings land on true to size. The rise and length details go in Rise Type & Measurement and Leg Length.
Examples
| Value | Verdict | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Fits true to size, order your normal size | Good | Exact Bloomingdale's phrase |
| Fits small, order one size up | Good | Exact phrase, right for a compression legging |
| True to size | Weak | Not one of the accepted phrases |
| Fits small. Size up if between sizes. | Weak | Rewritten, with periods |
| Fits true to size, order your normal size, model is 5'9" wearing S | Weak | Adds model information |
Common mistakes
- Paraphrasing. "Runs true to size" will not match the accepted list.
- Leaving it empty when the brand has no fit study. Default to the true-to-size phrase.
- Putting the answer in the description instead of this field. Bloomingdale's reads the attribute.
- Choosing a different answer per color. Fit is a property of the style.
How Osello fills this field
Osello fills this required parent-level field once per style. It reads fit guidance from the product description and attributes first, such as "compression fit" or "relaxed fit". With none, it infers the answer from the silhouette, fabric stretch and images, treating fitted, structured, non-stretch or bodycon garments as running small and oversized, boxy or relaxed ones as running large, and falls back to "Fits true to size, order your normal size". The result is always one of the three exact phrases. A listing with this field empty is held as incomplete until it is filled; see required fields and listing readiness. The complete attribute list is in the Bloomingdale's field directory.
Frequently asked questions
Can I write my own sizing note?
No. Bloomingdale's accepts only "Fits small, order one size up", "Fits large, order one size down" and "Fits true to size, order your normal size". A rewritten phrase can be rejected at review.
What do I choose for compression leggings?
If the brand designs them to fit snug and expects shoppers to size up, "Fits small, order one size up". If they fit like a normal legging, "Fits true to size, order your normal size".
What if I have no fit information?
Use "Fits true to size, order your normal size". It is the default when nothing about the garment suggests otherwise.
Does the answer change per colorway or size?
No. The field is set on the parent listing and covers the whole style.
