Every Osello plan includes monthly limits on three things: live marketplace SKUs, marketplace order volume (GMV), and connected marketplaces. This article explains how each limit is measured, what happens if you go over, and what you can do about it.
Current per-plan limits and prices are listed on our pricing page.
The three limits
- Live marketplace SKUs — SKUs with a live offer on a connected marketplace, meaning the retailer is actively selling them for you. A SKU stays counted while its offer is live even if you're still working on its listing content. A SKU that is live on two marketplaces counts twice, since Osello maintains a listing on each.
- Monthly marketplace GMV — the total value of orders placed on your connected marketplaces during your billing cycle. Canceled and refused orders don't count.
- Marketplaces — retailer channels (Nordstrom, Target+, Macy's, and so on) that are enabled and connected at the same time.
Team members are not a plan limit. On a paid plan you can invite as many people as your team needs, and they're never charged as overage. See Team members below.
Your billing cycle
Plan limits are monthly, so usage-based limits reset every month:
- On a monthly subscription — your cycle matches your billing period, so limits reset each time your subscription renews.
- On an annual subscription — your limits still reset monthly, on the same day of the month your subscription started. You're invoiced once a year, but your monthly GMV allowance is not pooled across the year.
- Without a subscription — you're on the Free plan, and your cycle runs month-to-month from the date your store was created.
You can see your current usage against each limit, and when your cycle resets, on the Billing page (store menu → Settings → Billing).
The Free plan
Stores without an active subscription are on the Free plan automatically. It's meant for evaluating Osello, so its limits are small: 100 live SKUs, $1,000 monthly GMV, and 1 marketplace. Free stores can also invite up to 10 team members.
On the Free plan the marketplace limit is a hard cap — Osello won't let you connect a second marketplace until you pick a paid plan. Because the Free plan is never billed for overage, the Billing page shows your Free-plan usage against each limit but doesn't show any overage figures.
What happens if you exceed a paid plan's limits
You are not moved to a bigger plan automatically, and Osello doesn't stop your listings or orders. Instead, overage charges apply for usage beyond your plan's limits, added to your next invoice. Overage rates depend on your plan — higher plans charge the same or lower rates for live SKUs and GMV:
| Limit exceeded | Small | Medium | Large |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live SKUs (per SKU over your limit, per day) | $0.03 | $0.02 | $0.01 |
| Monthly GMV (of the amount over your limit) | 1% | 0.5% | 0.5% |
| Marketplaces (per marketplace over, per month, prorated daily) | $150 | $150 | $150 |
Current rates are always listed on our pricing page, and you can see the exact rates for your plan any time on the Billing page — open the usage card's actions menu (⋯) and choose Limit overage details.
"Prorated daily" means you only pay for the days you were over. For example, if your plan includes 3 marketplaces and you connect a 4th for 10 days of a 30-day cycle, the charge is $150 × 10⁄30 = $50.
Note that live SKU overage adds up quickly because it's charged per day — if you expect to stay above your limit, upgrading is almost always cheaper (and higher plans charge lower overage rates too).
What you can do about it
- Upgrade your plan. Open Billing and choose Plans to compare every tier and upgrade in a couple of clicks — upgrades are pro-rated automatically, and your new limits apply right away. A Recommended badge highlights the plan that best fits your current and projected usage, so you can pick the right tier at a glance. If your store doesn't have enough activity yet to base a recommendation on, we highlight our Most popular plan instead. This is the right move if you're regularly near or over a limit. When an action would take you over a limit (connecting a marketplace, submitting listings), Osello shows you the overage cost first so you can decide to proceed or upgrade instead.
- Reduce usage. Disable listings you no longer sell, or disconnect a marketplace you're not using.
- Watch the Billing page. The usage section shows how close you are to each limit and any overage accrued so far this cycle, so charges never come as a surprise. Osello also shows a warning on your dashboard when you're over a limit.
- Need bigger limits? If the Large plan doesn't fit — or you have a season where you need a temporary exception — contact us. We can set custom limits for your store.
Team members
Team members aren't metered and are never billed as overage — invite whoever needs access.
Two caps still apply, and neither is a plan limit:
- On the Free plan, a store can have up to 10 team members. Pick a paid plan to invite more.
- On any plan, a store can have up to 100 team members. If you need more than that, contact us.
