How Furniq UK cut Nordstrom onboarding from 18 weeks to 3
Furniq UK's Nordstrom onboarding was projected at 18 weeks, with a spring collection already in production. They went live in three weeks instead.
In early 2025, Furniq UK had a boutique of design-forward pieces ready to sell and Nordstrom in its sights. The product wasn't the problem. The timeline was: Nordstrom onboarding was projected at 18 weeks, and the spring collection was already in production.
The cost of an 18-week onboarding
Furniq had been trying to get onto Nordstrom for months the traditional way: spreadsheets, field mapping, and a queue of manual submissions that never seemed to move.
Eighteen weeks wasn't only a wait. Every week of delay meant inventory sitting in a warehouse instead of in front of Nordstrom shoppers, right as the season it was made for went by.
The brand needed a launch that moved at its own pace, not at the pace of a legacy onboarding project.
Installed Monday, drafted by Thursday
Furniq installed Osello on a Monday. Osello read the full Shopify Plus catalog, every style, colorway and size, with no exports or field mapping, and applied Nordstrom's attributes automatically. By Thursday, the Nordstrom listings were drafted.
Rejections were corrected and resubmitted in the background. By the end of the first week, listings were in review. By week three, they were live.
"It's the first marketplace tool that actually understands our catalog."

The results
- 3 weeks from onboarding to live on Nordstrom, against an 18-week projection
- 5,000+ products synchronized every day
- 0 hours of manual data entry per day
Two more marketplaces are lined up next, and the team spends its time on product and growth instead of listing maintenance.
"We grew too soon, but it's an absolute game-changer for businesses like us."

What other brands can take from it
- Count the season, not just the weeks. An onboarding timeline matters most when it overlaps a collection. A launch that lands after the season is a launch that missed.
- Most of an onboarding project is translation. Furniq's catalog already held every style, colorway and size. The 18 weeks were mostly about getting that data into Nordstrom's format.
- Plan the second marketplace before the first one is live. Once the catalog syncs on its own, each new retailer costs far less than the first.
