Bloomingdale's Product Dimension 2 Field Guide

Product Dimension 2 is Bloomingdale's second free-text dimension slot, used for a second measurement or fit detail about a specific size of the product after Product Dimension 1. It is optional, it is set per size, and it accepts up to 4096 characters, though Bloomingdale's displays it as one line of product detail.

As with the first slot, many categories have a named version of this field. Women's dresses, for example, carry a category-specific field in the second slot for how the dress fits at the bust, hip and waist (see Bust, Hip, Waist Fit Details). When your category has a named second-slot field, fill that one and leave this generic field blank. This field is for the categories that do not.

The rules

Rule Value
Required No
Level Variant, shared by every colorway of the same size
Maximum length 4096 characters
Category-specific instructions None; use the named second-slot field when your category has one

Osello's recommendations, since Bloomingdale's sets no format for the generic slot:

  • One detail, distinct from what Product Dimension 1 already says.
  • Inches, with the size the number belongs to: "Approx. 9" rise, size 27".
  • "Approx." on estimates; blank when your data has nothing to support a value.
  • Nothing about color, wash or price, since every colorway of the size shares it.

Examples

How Osello fills this field

Product Dimension 2 is a variant-level text field grouped by size, so Osello sets it once per size and shares the value across that size's colorways. The AI takes measurements from your product data and images, does not repeat the value it gave Product Dimension 1, and leaves the field blank when nothing supports a number. Wording preferences go in custom instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Is Product Dimension 2 required?

No. Fill it only when there is a second measurement or fit detail worth showing.

Can I use it for the fit at the bust, waist and hip?

For women's dresses that detail has its own named field in the second slot, so use that one. In categories without a named field, this generic slot can hold it.

Does the value vary by colorway?

No. It is grouped by size. Every colorway of the same size shares the value, and each size can have its own.

Which unit should I use?

Inches, with the size the measurement was taken on, labeled "Approx." when it is an estimate.
