Connect Your Shopify Store to Osello

How to connect Shopify to Osello, authorize the app, and what happens after — products, images, inventory, and prices import and stay in sync automatically.

Connecting Shopify takes a few minutes: add the integration, click Authorize, and approve the app in Shopify. From then on Osello imports your catalog and keeps it in sync automatically.

Connect in three steps

  1. Open the store menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Integrations, then click New Integration and select Shopify.

  2. Fill in the short form:

    • Connection Mode — choose Install Shopify App. (The custom app modes are for special setups; if you think you need one, contact us and we'll walk you through it.)
    • Shop URL — your store's address, like your-store.myshopify.com.

    Then click Connect Integration.

  3. On the integration page, a banner asks you to complete the connection. Click Authorize — you'll be sent to Shopify to approve the app and its permissions, then returned to Osello.

That's it. Osello confirms the connection and starts working with your store.

What Osello imports

  • Products — titles, descriptions, images, variants, tags, and metafields.
  • Prices — each variant's price from Shopify.
  • Inventory — your Shopify locations and the stock level at each one.
  • Orders — so marketplace orders and your Shopify orders can be linked and kept in step.

Osello only reads your product data — it never edits the products in your Shopify store. Everything marketplace-specific happens on your listings inside Osello, so your Shopify catalog stays exactly as you keep it.

Sync is automatic

You don't need to re-import anything by hand:

  • The first connection imports your whole catalog. Osello fetches every product rather than only recent ones, so your full Shopify catalog is in Osello from the start. This runs once, on the first connection — reconnecting later resumes the normal schedule instead of re-importing everything.
  • When a product changes in Shopify, Shopify notifies Osello right away and the product updates.
  • Inventory levels refresh on an hourly schedule, and the full catalog gets a refresh daily.
  • Want something pulled in immediately? Open the integration page's actions menu and choose Pull Products. Osello asks whether to fetch only recently updated products (the fast default) or your whole catalog.

Choosing what imports

By default Osello imports your whole catalog. On the integration's settings you can narrow that down:

  • Product Inclusion Tag Filter — only import products with certain Shopify tags.
  • Product Exclusion Tag Filter — skip products with certain tags. Products tagged osello:exclude are always skipped.
  • Excluded Product Types — skip products by their Shopify product type. Bundle is excluded by default, since bundle SKUs usually can't be listed on marketplaces.
  • Map Vendor to Brand — on by default; uses each product's Shopify vendor as its brand.
