# How Osello Compares to Feed and Integration Apps

Feed apps publish a data feed generated from your source catalog. Osello is a listing platform: every listing is a real, stored record you can open and edit. That one difference changes how much control you have over what shoppers actually see.

## How feed apps work

Most marketplace integration tools work the same way: you set up mapping rules ("marketplace title = my product title", "material = this metafield"), and the app generates a feed from your source data and pushes it to the marketplace. It's a reasonable model, and for simple catalogs it works.

But the feed model has built-in limits:

- **Listings only exist as rule output.** There's nothing to open and edit — if one listing needs a different title on one marketplace, you can't just change it. You have to change the rule, and the rule applies to everything.

- **Sync stays automatic.** Inventory, prices, and orders flow continuously, and when a product changes at the source, Osello can update the related listings — so you get feed-style automation without giving up control of individual listings.

## Why it matters
