# Connect Your First Marketplace

> How to add a marketplace connection in Osello — which marketplaces are available, what the form asks for, and what happens right after you connect.

Connecting a marketplace means giving Osello access to your seller account there. Once connected, Osello loads that marketplace's categories and field requirements and starts syncing — from then on, listings, offers, and orders all flow through Osello.

## Start the connection

1. In the sidebar's **Marketplaces** section, click **Connect Marketplace** (or the **+** button next to the section title).
2. Pick your marketplace — for example Target+, Macy's, Nordstrom, or Bloomingdale's.
3. Fill in the form and save.

## What the form asks for

- **Name** — what this connection is called in your sidebar. The marketplace's own name is a fine default.
- **Credentials** — the keys that let Osello act on your seller account. These come from your seller account on the marketplace itself; for example, Target+ asks for a **Seller ID (SMS ID)** and **API Token**, while Macy's and similar marketplaces ask for a **Store ID** and **Personal API Key**. The per-marketplace guides below show exactly where to find them.
- **Offers** and **Orders** settings — whether Osello pushes prices and inventory, and whether orders sync. The defaults are right for almost everyone; you can change them later.
  - A newly connected marketplace starts with **Pull Orders & Updates** on and **Push Order Updates** off, so orders flow into Osello for visibility while the marketplace keeps control of accepting them. Turn **Push Order Updates** on once you're ready for Osello to answer the marketplace for you — see [Accepting and rejecting new orders](/help/orders/accept-and-reject-orders).
- **Source Product Filters** — optional tag or SKU filters if only part of your catalog belongs on this marketplace. Leave these blank to start; you can always narrow later.

## What happens after you connect

- Osello loads the marketplace's **category tree** and **field requirements** — the rules your listings will need to meet. You'll find them under the marketplace's **Categories** and **Fields** pages in the sidebar.
- The marketplace gets its own sidebar section with **Listings**, **Offers**, and everything else you'll use day to day.
- Osello begins syncing with the marketplace automatically on a regular schedule.
- **Your existing orders are pulled in.** The first time a marketplace connects, Osello reaches as far back into your order history as that marketplace allows — not just recent orders — so orders you already had there show up on your Orders page. This happens once, on the first connection; if the marketplace ever disconnects and you reconnect it, Osello picks up where it left off instead of re-importing everything.

From there, the next step is creating listings from your products.

## Connecting takes minutes; approval can take longer

The Osello side is quick. What varies is the marketplace: some seller accounts need to be approved or have API access enabled before the credentials work. The per-marketplace guides cover what to expect for each one.
